8th to 11th Octobter (Summary & Homework)


- Check homework: worksheet verb “to be” and worksheet “classroom objects”

- Oral practice: teacher asking questions

- Vocabulary: things (p. 12 and p. 151)

- Grammar: a / an – plurals
We use a / an for singular nouns:
. a + consonant: a table; a computer
. an + vowel: an apple, an umbrella

- Plural nouns: we NEVER use a / an with plural nouns
Regular plurals
. We add –s in most nouns: key – keys / book – books
. We add – es when a noun ends in –ch, -sh, -s, -x: box – boxes / what – watches
. We add –ies when a noun ends in –y: country – countries / nationality – nationalities

Irregular plurals
. a man – men
. a woman – women /wimen/
. a child – children
. a person – people

Demonstrative adjectives: THIS / THAT / THESE / THOSE
this (este, esta) – these /i:/ (estos, estas)
these (aquel, aquella, ese, esa) – those (aquellos, aquellas, esos, esas)
